Buyer protection

When you pay on Windruil, the seller receives nothing until you have the gear. Here is exactly how it works, what is covered and what is not.

Where is your money?

You pay with iDEAL, Bancontact or card. The payment is collected by Stripe, our licensed payment provider, on the seller’s account, but payouts from that account are frozen: only Windruil can release them, and only once hand-over is confirmed. Until then, the money can be refunded to you.

You pay the price plus the protection fee (€2 + 5 %). The total is shown before payment.

Hand-over in person

  1. After paying, you find a 6-digit code in your order.
  2. At the meeting, check the gear: inflate the wing, assemble the foil, look at the repairs.
  3. If everything matches, give the code to the seller. They enter it and the sale is confirmed: this is final.
  4. If something is wrong, or the meeting does not happen, do not give the code and click “Report a problem” in your order. The money stays on hold.

Shipping

  1. The seller has 5 days to ship the parcel and enter the tracking number. Otherwise you can cancel in one click and get a full refund, protection fee included.
  2. Parcel missing or late? Report it from your order: the money stays on hold.
  3. Once the parcel is delivered (the seller says so, or automatically 4 days after shipping), you have 48 hours to check and confirm, or report a problem.
  4. Without a report within that time, the sale is confirmed automatically and the seller is paid.

If there is a problem

As long as a problem is reported, the money stays on hold. We read your messages, the listing and its photos, the parcel tracking, and ask the seller for their side. Then we decide:

  • full refund, protection fee included (returning the gear is arranged with both of you);
  • partial refund, for an undeclared defect when you keep the gear;
  • payout to the seller, if the gear matches the listing.

What is not covered

  • A payment made outside the platform: bank transfer, Tikkie, cash.
  • A problem reported after confirmation: code given, or 48 hours passed after delivery.
  • A defect described in the listing or visible in its photos, and normal wear of used gear.
  • Simply changing your mind.
